This 42-inch (1067 mm) wide belt carries material to the stockpile from the quarry’s primary crusher. But poor performance by the conveyor’s homemade “slab” belt cleaner left piles of carryback under the conveyor, interfering with its ability to move to the stockpile, while shortening component life.

To improve belt cleaning, the plant selected a cleaning system, consisting of a Martin^® QC1™ Cleaner and a Martin^® SAF2™ Cleaner. Installation of the cleaners was performed by a MartinPLUS^® Service technician.

Belt cleaning performance improved dramatically. The radial stacker conveyor was free to move more easily, and fugitive material on the ground under the conveyor and on conveyor components was significantly reduced.
