Organization History

Martin Engineering's Australia Business Unit was founded in September 2017 in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. The

facility provides direct sales, service, training, and manufacturing to the continent, serving key industries such as mining, cement, sugar, quarrying and bulk handling ports. The business unit offers factory-direct customer access to locally-manufactured products, as well as technical service from experienced and factory-trained technicians. In addition to the Australian continent, the manufacturing operation also supplies products to the greater Asia-Pacific region.

Alvaro Chacon

Managing Director

Alvaro Chacon served as Managing Director for Mexico, where he is responsible for all facets of the Business Unit, including sales, manufacturing, marketing, operations, HR, service, and finance. With 23 years of experience in bulk material handling, he has previously served as Senior Business Development Director from 2011-2015, Global Business Development Director 2007 - 2011, and Managing Director South Africa 2004 - 2007 among other sales activities in Latin America.

Chacon has been opening business units and supporting their development in South America and Asia. Fluent in English, with linguistic skills in Portuguese, he has extensive international experience supporting business in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Chacon holds a B.S. in Mining Engineering from Universidad de Guanajuato and an M.B.A. from Universitat de Barcelona in Spain.
